State Street Klassical Kids is a
unique opportunity for children to
develop musical skills in a creative
environment incorporating movement
and drama.
Basic musicianship classes will teach students solfege, rhythmic reading, and elementary theory. These skills will be reenforced by playing instruments and ensemble participation. An emphasis will be placed on developing choral skills in children’s voices in preparation for membership in the State Street Academy Children’s Ensembles.
Guest musicians will be featured in recitals and demonstrations throughout the week.
A daily schedule will include sessions in:
• Basic Musicianship
• Drums/Recorder
• Movement
• Drama
• Choral Ensemble
Guest and student recitals will close each day.
We will end each week with a demonstration/performance of the week’s accomplishments. This will include a choral performance and interrelated ‘arts’ projects performances.
Students should bring a lunch each day. Drinks and healthy snacks will be provided.
