Middle School Piano Camp

For students entering 4th through 8th grade,
with at least 2 years of previous piano experience

The Schedule:
---------Monday, 8/4 through Friday, 8/7: 8:30 to 12:30
---------with a Closing Recital, Friday 8/8 at 1:30

The Theme:

The Classical Era

During this Camp, students will gain an understanding of the culture, forms, and composers, and musical characteristics of the Classical period. By the end of the week each student will have played and danced a Minuet, written a group composition in sonata form, discovered the layout of a Rondo, and learned about the lives of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, the fortepiano, and the society, art, and architecture of the time. Students will also be placed in duo or trio combinations for performance at the Friday recital.
