Scholarship Program
The State Street Academy of Music provides needs-based partial scholarships to some of our students who otherwise would not be able to participate in the SSA programs. The financial support of SSA's donors creates the potential for many children to have access to the arts.
SSA scholarships are awarded based solely on financial need. Criteria considered in awarding financial assistance includes the family's annual income with relation to the federal poverty standard and number of people living in the household. To qualify for financial assistance, a scholarship applicant must demonstrate that the applicant's combined family income is less than or equal to 300 percent of the Poverty Guidelines published annually by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Scholarships are awarded at three levels: 90 percent of tuition, 80 percent of tuition, and 50 percent of tuition.
